There is no need for care to be exercised in the use of matches, as any attempt to use them for setting ire to the college build- ings will be promptly met by the Bucket Brigade. The use of firearms however, is deprecated by the Dean. Large waste baskets are provided on every Hoor and rubbish of all kinds such as class presidents, toast mistresses etc., may be deposited in them. Under no circumstances must such rubbish be thrown from doors or windows or scattered anywhere about the grounds. 4 Lxibrarg and Reading Room. The Library is to be used for the purpose of ascertaining what books are not there, and during the winter term seats at the tables will be used for the enjoyment of piano recitals taking place on the floor below. Books for historical reference alone may be written in, marked, or otherwise defaced or injured, and only when the required ref- erence for Mediaeval History exceeds 600 pages per day may the pages be torn out and swallowed. 134
