Certain fields of academic endeavor are offered to students be- cause they develop the power to think, to identify and to interpret factsgto have doubt as well as reasoned belief, and to divide the true from the false. Zed The minimum goals of every student should be to be present every dag to attend to all the assignments of the teachers in the best possible manner, and to try unceasingly to develop a pleasing personality and attractive person. As one is doing these things, he is making himself socially acceptable to those around him and to the world he will meet after his graduation. PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE I would like to comment not only as a principal but as a coach. I wish to commend our teams on their splendid con- duct in defeat, as well as in victory. I am sure our stu- dents will continue to meet success or disappointment in the same humble and upright spirit, whether it be in the classroom, in the community, uation. will be Wellpinit a happier which to have been wfwv or in their lives after grad- I am sure that we able to say that High Schoolhas been and better place in work because they here. Looking over these years, we recall some pleasant memories and others which are not so pleasant. Our first day of high school was August 28, l95O. The mem- bers of our class were Helen Eddy, Philip wynecoop, Robert wynecoop, Marlene Wynne, Suzanne Dinehart, Miles Peone Leon- ard Cox, Thomas Sam, Albert Brown, AQDES Thatcher, Nancy lgnace and Lee, Stanley, and Laverle Rima. Our teachers that year were Superintendent C. E. Cheyney, Mr. Glenn Gal- braith, and Miss Sylvia Miller, advisor. Shortly after the opening of school the three Rima's and Leonard Cox dropped. Our Sophomore year found us with more confidence and less shyness. Suzanne Dinehart transferred to a school in Spo- kane. Nancy lgnace and Agnes Thatcher dropped out that year too. we had the concessions at the football games, where we sold pop and candy to make some money. Our teachers for the year were Superintendent John Estes, Mr. Glenn Galbraith, advisor, and Miss Ermina Davis. The members of our class during our Junior year were the same except for Thomas Sam and Miles Peone who joined the Armed Services. we decorated for the Senior and Sports Ban- quet. we had the basketball concession and a very success- ful dance financially. Also several pie and cake sales were held. Early in April we received our class rings. we were instructed by a whole new faculty Superintendent U. O. Atte- bery, advisor, Mr. Francis Tyllia, Mrs. Phyllis Attebery, Mr. F. Grant Smith, and Mr. Mark Bunsness. The latter re- placed Mr. Smith at mid-year. The following students were enrolled for our Senior year: Philip and Robert wynecoop, Marlene Wynne, Helen Eddy, and Albert Brown. Later we lost one classmate--Albert, who en- listed in the Army. Our teachers were Mr. Attebery, advisor, Mrs. Attebery, Mr. Tyllia, and Mr. Joseph williams. The events that completed our high school careers---our one- act plays, the sneak, the Senior banquet, and Commencement-- made a great impression upon the four students who had the stamina and determination to reach their goal. CLASS WILL We, the beloved Seniors of l95h, in full possession of our mental andfphysical faculties do hereby make our last will and Testament. To the Juniors, we will our ability to control the purse strings. To the Sophomores, we will our well-known personalities and dispositions that helped get us this tar. To the Freshmen, we leave our ability to work. To the Faculty, we leave all the mean tricks pulled through the years. I, Philip Wynecoop, do hereby will my valuable unmarked desk to Darrel Hastings. My reputation to Norvel Peone so he wonlt have to earn one. My loud shoes to Irene Flett. My place on the bench to Robert Eddy, who seems to like it. ' I, Helen Eddy, do hereby will my honesty and integrity to the Junior girls. My new desk to Richard Wynne and hope he keeps it in as good shape as l have. My ability to take freshmen subjects when a Senior to the Freshmen boys. l, Robert Wynecoop, do hereby will my pitching ability to my younger brothers and hope they will do just as well. My new Chemistry book to Robert Wasson who is a promis- ing young chemist. My ability as student body president to Charles Tandy. l, Marlene Wynne, do hereby will my sore arms to Esther Lowley and hope she keeps them in good condition. My cheerleading outfits to the Freshmen girls. My foolish- ness to Janet Wynecoop and hope she can keep it up. My cheerful way to Dick Wynecoop. We, the Class of l95h, Wellpinit High School, Town of Well- pinit, County of Stevens, State of Washington, United States of America, sign and seal this on a day of con- fusion, May 28, l95h. Philip and Robert Wynecoop Legal Advisors CLASS PROPHECY Wellpinit, washington May 27: ' Dear Mr. Attebery: Af a reunion of the Class of '5L, we have been reminiscing and decided that you might like to learn what has become of the four of us. Philip Marshall wynecoop has fulfilled his life-long ambi- tion to become a teacher by occupying the post of Professor of Education at Stanford University. Rumors are afloat that he intends to run for Governor of California next fall. Guess what: The newly-selected UMother of American is none other than the former Helen Jean Eddy who won the title on her merits as a mother of twenty children and forty grand- children. Her experience as the oldest girl in a family of seven came in quite handy. That most studious one of us, Robert Owen wynecoop, is now working on the Atomic Energy Commission at Los Alamos, New Mexico, and is still an eligible bachelor. However, he is hoping to get time soom to consider the possibilities of an early marriage. Now comes the surprise. Marlene Alice Wynne is the wife of Dr. Paul Bunyan Reamer, former teacher at U. C. L. A. lt seems that Mrs. Reamerls flashing smile won her so many ad- mirers that she is now teaching in her huSband's place. we hope that all has gone well with you and your family. SENIOR HIGH BASKETBALL The Senior High Basketball team had a disastrous season as far as winning is concerned, winning only 2 of I7 games. However, the team gained the lesson from their experiences, the lesson that sports was intended to give--win if you can, if not, lose graciously. Games should be won in the same manner. Our boys were complimented after each game by the officials on their excellent attitude and sportsmanshipgand, as a coach, 1 compliment them on their undying spirit in face of great odds. The boys never quit and were always giving their best. If winning were the only goal in sports, then in our conference only one team achieved the goal while seven others failed. ln fact, only one team in the entire state would have accomplished the purpose for which sports are played. For their appearance they chose to collaborate with the girls in a tour de force in the final group of songs at Christmas.
