SENICR C ASS PRCDPHECY Whtle tourtng the local County Fa1r a few days ago we happened to chance upon a small tent whlch was set apart from the rest and was unnonced by most of the crowd A small srgn above the door read Madame SAY Sees the Future U1 her Crystal Ball We were met at the door by a gypsy of anctent vintage We stated that we w1shed to see the futures of some very close fr1ends and she proceeded forth w1th to use her maglc ball The f1rst tmage to appear was that of Walter Baker who lS now a successful tycoon on Wall Street presxdmg over the busmess world from lus penthouse tnhis Super Duper Baker Sky scraper A dark nust swept away the tmage and when tt cleared we were surprlsed to see that Carol Blackwell IS a farmerette who IS llVlIlg on Canal Street in Welhngton and is busy as a bee tend1ng her two mineature basketball teams of ten boys Then we saw Don Bury who IS a lTlBQ'1lf1C8IlI and successful conductor of the New York Plulharmonlc Symphony Orchestra He has been accla1med by crmcs as a greater conductor even than Toscanrune. Agam the mist swept away that tmage, and soon we saw an old push cart traveling up and that nrne we were aware that it was none other than Roger Carnun the Ch1ef garbage collector Then we saw the famous playboy Hiram Crawford dmtng at his winter v1lla on the Rlviera Hts motto by the looks of th1ngs seemed to be wine, women and song. He now has half of King Farouk s harem. Now S1r Edwardo Htghftll came mto view He is we soon learned a conftrmed bachelor who plays flrst vtolm under Maestro Donaldo Leoaldo Buryo Qshort for Daddy Op Again the scene changed and we saw the magugaration of James McClure the new Pres1dent of the United States We saw bestde him the first lady snuling and grac1ous as ever She is the former Hatense Agatha MoG11l1cuddy daughter of Zeke McG1llxcuddy XIII the champton sword swallower The crystal ball suddenly became black but Madame SAY uttered several rnagtc words and we saw a flnal xmage. It was Marte Ziebart who lS now fashion consultant to the Queen of England We note that Queen Eltzabeth and Prmcess Margaret were placed second and tlurd respectively to Miss Zlebart tn nominations by the fashion world for the world s then best dressed women. The crystal ball once again grew black and Madame SAY presented us with a b1l1 of good luck, which we in turn present to the Senior Class of 1957 by the Jumor Class down the back alleys of Milford. HQ Wellxngton High School was represented tn basketball thls year by a team that would not accept defeat regardless of the odds that were agunst them Every ball game was hard fought for the full 32 mmutes ln some respects tlus mdtcates a certam degree of success The 1956 57 basketball season although not too successful dtd show some defmite pronuse for the future. The loss of semors Roger Carmm and Walter Baker would hurt any team however the rest of the team w1ll be returrung for next year Wtth such returmng lettermen as John Holt ,T1m McV1cker J ac Sollars Phil Rush Ray Burton and others we are lookmg forward to next year s schedule No doubt somethmg should be menrtoned about the Freshmen Sophomore team that won the Armstrong Invltattonal Tournament The wmmng team was composed of Ronme Hunt Greg Hollen Juruor Prultt Jac Sollars Ray Burton Jerry McV1cker Kermtt Hopper Bllly Galloway and Donald Keehng. BACK ROW: Larry Creighton, Phillip Rush, Richard Swartz, J oe Eckersley, Leon Caldwell F. F. . The F. F. A, is an intra-curricular part of the Vocational Agriculture course. The Future Farmers of America is a national organization of, by, and for boys studying vocational agriculture in public secon- dary schools under the provisions of the National Vocational Education Acts. The program of work was formulated early in the year and a copy was distributed to each F.F.A. member. Our program of work has been entered in the sectional contest. During October the group selected two teams for a pest contest. Many rats, mice, pigeons, crows, sparrows, and even a fox were eliminated as pests in our community. The winning team will pay all expenses for a party, Early November found the F,F,A, boys on their way to Chicago for the International Livestock Show. During the morning we visited the Board of Trade building. An exciting trip on the elevated brought the group back to the livestock show, where they spent the rest of the day observing the fine quality livestock and grain on display. The following received awards at the Sectional Grain show: Ross Butzow received an A rating for Corn, Wheat, Clover and Oats. Dave Moore received an A rating for Soybeans. Larry Leaver received an A rating for Corn. Don Bury received an A rating for Wheat. John Holt received a B rating for Corn. Ron Hunt received a B rating for Wheat. Bill Galloway received a B rating for Oats and a C rating for Corn. A team of five boys traveled to New Lennox on April 12 to enter the partiamentary procedure contest. On April 17 all the boys in the Junior and Senior class entered the foundation awards contest and on April 23, one member of our F. F.A. was selected to participate in the public speaking contest held at Cissna Park. All the parents gathered at the high school on April 24 for the Parent and Son potluck supper, and on April 27 the F. F.A. sponsored a Donkey Basketball game. There are a few of the activities Listed in the program of work. The F. F.A members are proud of their work for the year and feel that we completed a successful year.
