As eighth graders we marched onward to the battlefield of English, History and Mathematics. We be- came members and officers in Kay- ettes and Hi-Y, participated in football, baseball, and track, and elected mem- bers to the Federation. The year of 1948-49 was an exceed- ingly active one for the Seniors of 1952. The girls put in extra work to make their choir a fine organization. The big event of our Sophomore year was presenting three one-act plays directed by Miss Pauline Shockey. We started our Junior year with the class play, Seventeenth Summer , st- arring Yvonna Higginbotham and Jack Rudd. Everyone thought it was a wonder- ful play. Under the direction of Frank- lin Houser, President, Jepson Garland, Vice-Presidentg Carolyn Kaiser, Secre- tary, and Roberta Reige, Treasurer, we came through the year with flying colors. We raised money for the Junior-Senior Prom, Penthouse Serenade , by selling pencils and working at the concession stands at the football and basketball games Class officers for our Senior year were: John Rothrock, Presidentg Donald Gasper, Vice-Presidentg Jepson Garland, Treasurerg and Bonnie Hyten, Secretary. To preside over the Student Federation and our assemblies we chose a very cap- able president, John Garland. And now that we have completed our high school career, many of us realize that this may be the last time we will see our friends, and in-a way we wish we were just entering good ole W.H.S. for the first time. But on the other hand, we know that new friends and experiences await us Although we have often complained about school, we know that we will always re- member the good ole days at W. H. S.
