P ? A 'Alf 5' ' Q Dedication Hard work has always been an essential part of Mary Bennett's teaching- learning theory. A student either worked hard, from which he benefited, or if not he lost and could only blame himself. Anyone who took one of Miss Bennett's courses and put forth some effort, learned and remembered. For the success of her methods, she is respected and admired throughout the school. Now, as we leave W.H.S., we will remember all the faculty's and administra- tion's attempts at putting up with us and trying their hardest to teach us something. But especially we well remember Miss Bennett's algebra and geometry classes, the theorems, the drawings, and the unsuccessful attempts to get away with anything not related to classroom activity. To her foremost, as well as all the administration and faculty, we dedicate the 1967 DUKE, and hope her future brings her as much success as has her past. , 4 -A-su... ss, ,W uk' . -,ABMX xw W. 1 ' f -ki M-1-wg .N :Lk W. xv' 1- SL, xy, kupzr. 1, A . .X hx ,xgxfg V sg -fill! The play followed a young couple, and the small town they lived in, through a few years of the couple's lives. The first act was the one of the courtship, in which the main characters, Emily and George, discover that they are meant for each other. The second act took us through the fear, the joy, and the excitement of a wedding experienced, not only by the couple being married, but also by their families and the entire town. r The third act showed the sadness and the cruelty of death as Hnily, who has died, re- turns to see all she has missed and realizes how blind all human beings are to the goings on around them. The play was a successful effort of a great many members of the senior class, and was enjoyed by all. It was directed by Miss Gratz and student director, Marye Walker.
