Introducing us to the turmoil and problems of junior high school, Mr Campbell ably supervised our home- room and instructed ns in geography. Miss Bennett prodded us all through junior high math, and even succeeded in getting us through the terrors of algebra and geometry. Now, as time marches on, she is advisor to us in our last year of high school. Un these grounds we gratefully acknowledge the contributions of these two teachers with this, our yearbook. annual staff Editor-mchief ......-.. - Junior Apprentices Literary Editor -- Writing Editor -E- Research Editor - Make-up-Editor -C ,vs Barbara Drake Sports Editor ,-., ..Ew C-, Photography Editor --,--, Tom Jones Typing Editor .,.. -U 'P 14 - Beth Thornton ----s- Donna Arndt Louanne Broud nn-, Sue Westbrook ,lean Alice Foster as Kay Laughlin Steve Westbrook Carole Andrews Business Editor ,,,-g ,.., B everly Bassett Subscriptions Editor .... The explanation for why this was done is comparatively simple. Ever since time began man has been trying to educate himself and others about him. Many different types of methods have been used, but one of the most effective is the one depicted in the cartoon. Nina Qs Q Left to Right: J. McConnell, Presidentg D. Shays, Vice-Presidentg D. You are now entering the most glamorous of all eras, the era of chivalry, represented here hy sports. The principle behind sports has not changed much down through the years. It has always been the challenger versus the champion. the Wilmer and the loser. The thing that has witnessed a great evolution. however. is the sense of value connected with u hattle. Although winding up in third place in the Lakeland Conference this year, the Wellington Varsity Squad earned the reputation of being the team most likely to upset predictions. Having been defeated earlier in the season by Amherst flsakeland Conference Champions! and Midview tLorain County Cham- pionsl, the Wellington Varsity gave each a return game that neither will for- get. Midview has remained unbeaten all year until Wellington beat them 35-32 in their last game. The only defeat Amherst received came at the hands of the Dukes. Upon entering the terminal. we turn our baggage over to technician John Poiner and his capable assistant Janice Fisher who x-rayed it for the interplanetary customs service which is headed by Tom Jones. Because of a short wait for our next rocket. we decide to look around. We spy Kathleen Prentiss controlling the latest electronic device for dispensing vitaminized food. This device named '6Venovac,' was pioneered and devoloped by engineers Steve Westbrook. Bill Brumfield, and Jim Herrick. Prominently displayed on the stereo-visual glass. invented by Bill Lampen. are ads drawn bv Bev Bassett. On the opposite page we see an ad for a fertilizer that is guaranteed to grow corn even in the craters of Jupiter. This product was developed by agricultural scientists J. Brown, L. Ewell, K. Kurtz. and W. Stegman. Well-Known fashion designers, Iris Clawson and Barbara Drake have announced that their space suits with the new 1976 look will be sold exclusively through Roger Hyde, clothier. The University of Venus has announced that two of their professors R. Klann and M. Harris have just completed research on astronomical devices to control comets. Having turned to the funny page of the paper. we notice a comic strip entitled 4'The Littlest Sputniki' by Beth Thornton. As we lay the paper down we see Dr. Gossman and her special assistant Molly Wight. who have just entered the terminal. Marilyn is universally known for her discovery of LKP4 which is guaranteed to prevent blood boiling on Mercury. Marilyn tells us that this product may be obtained from the pharmaceutical company of Ellis. Inc. AlEClC1SOl2lAn The time has come when the class of '58 must say farewell to our high school days. Some of us leave with sadness and regret, others leave with joy and eagerness. But no matter what our individual feelings, we all realize that our lives will never again be the same. We are going out to homes, careers, and challenges of our own. No longer shall we have the guidance and protection that we have had during our school days. We are about to greet our own futures and become the guides and protectors of the next generation. Now we are not just on the threshold of a new age, we are in it. and what it holds for us is uncertain. Through the past several years our families, school, church, and community have tried to instill in us those qualities that we shall find most helpful in facing this new life. They have all helped to teach us many things besides reading, writing, and arithmetic. Respect, honesty, loyalty, responsibility, sportsmanship, love of country and fellow man, a desire for knowledge, and a desire for peace, are a few of the characteristics that have been impressed upon us. These are the qualities which we shall most need no matter what the future may bring. In general, they have -tried' to teach us to be good, intelligent citizens. We hope, as we step forward to meet these new responsibilities and challenges that we shall be able to prove to our homes, our church, our school, and our com- munity that their efforts have not been in vain. We hope, too, that we shall be able to uphold these qualities to future generations. Jean Alice Foster 70,-.sfrst ' .Y I .gf X 'z L1 RL'-.. . i 5 ' . Q-lit 4 ilgvgl .
