Wellesley High Welcemes New Principal Mr. Parrell Without a doubt, the most positive change of the 1984-85 school year was the arrival of our new high school principal, Mr. Farrell. He came to us when we were lacking pride and enthusiasm for our school and has slowly but steadily tried to build it back up. Already, Mr. Farrell has organized groups from the student body, to clean up our school and to organize a student senate. Both of these activities have enabled the four classes to merge and develop a united school feeling. Mr. Ted Tripp stated, “Mr. Farrell is totally school oriented and bases his decisions according to the best interests of the entire school population. Mr. Farrell is supportive of both staff and students which can sometimes be a very difficult thing to do.” Even though Mr. Farrell believes the Wellesley High School has an ex¬ ceptional academic program, he plans to closely review and strengthen the curriculum, thus, making our school stand out even more, academically. Mr. Carbone commented, “Mr. Farrell is concerned with meeting the needs of the students, being supportive to the faculty, and presenting the best educational atmosphere possible. He has many positive, definite goals he wants to accomplish but which will take some time. He is very supportive to the faculties ' needs.” As for other future goals, Mr. Farrell would like to add some programs to the school so students can actively become more involved. As he stated, “I want the students to want to take a part in their school.” Our new principal also seems determined to instill more school spirit and pride to the Wellesley High School students. Surely with his enthusiasm Mr. Farrell will do just that. As Jon Young of the class of ' 86 said, “He’s one of the few principals I’ve known who really looks out for the kids. He wants the kids to be happy more than anything.” William E. Farrell Peter Vasaturo, Ass t Prin Richard Carbone. Ass t Prin. Nazieem Smith, Mr. Farrell and his secretary Joan Cussen.
