COMPANIONSHIP: SCHOOL WOULD BE A LONELY PLACE WITHOUT IT After missing a game-winning goal, flunking a test, or breaking up, we turned to our friends. Sometimes there were things that parents couldn’t be told, but a true friend was always there. Without companionship, high school could be a boring, lonely plai-e. Friendship is the most enriching part of an education. Not only did it give us practice in communicating with peers, but through the companionship of others, our private ideas were challenged and constructively criticized.
