JOSEPH C. SPANG, Director of Guidance GUIDANCE In our complex and often confusing adolescent years, we are in need of all of the wise guidance and counsel that we can obtain. Our guidance department has given us not only advice and help in making important decisions but also expert counsel in helping us to make the right decisions. We are indeed grateful to them for helping us to face with confidence the seeming crises of our high school years. We are sure that in the future we will come to appreciate even more the contribu¬ tions of these counselors to our growth. JOAN W. CAPITELL, Guidance Counselor ALFRED E. MAZUKINA, Guidance Counselor k HENRY L. DUGGAN, Guidance Counselor MRS. NANCY FOSS, Guidance Secretary ANNA C. CRAIG, Dean of Girls 9

FACULTY You mystify us — we can’t quite place you, know you, find you. Yet you have found us, known us, and participated fully in our growing. You infuriate us — making demands of us when we feel incapable, having ex¬ pectations for us when we are not worthy, binding and disciplining us when we would be free. You excite us — by your perception, your knowledge, your willingness to listen and, maybe, to understand. You believe in us — and this makes us thrilled and scared. You would have us be even better than you, go farther, do more. We but pray to be deserving of your faith, your dignity, your life’s work.
