NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Mr. Maffeo entertains the audience with personal anecdotes. The purpose of the National Honor Society is to recognize excel¬ lence of achievement in many fields. Members are chosen according to their manifestation of the qualities of leadership, scholarship, char¬ acter, and service. At Wellesley High School, the upper sixth of the Juniors and the upper third of the Seniors, in scholastic rank, are eligible for membership. From these students, the faculty elects five per cent and fifteen per cent of each class respectively. At this year’s induction assembly, we were honored to have as a guest speaker, the Superintendent of Schools in Natick, Mr. Maflfeo, who delivered an inspiring speech on the subject, “To Each His Own.” “Thank you, Mr. Graves.” First Row: H. This year, for the first time, Wellesley High School had two American Field Service exchange students: Laura Taricco from Italy, and Wolf¬ gang Jobmann from Germany. Projects and activities for the year included Tag Day, Work Day, evening get-togethers, the selling of A.F.S. cookbooks, a Ski weekend, and a weekend as host to thirty foreign students from neighboring towns.
