The Student Council is the only group that is elected to represent the entire school. The Council works constantly to improve your school by studying prob¬ lems and recommending solutions. Much of the time at the weekly meetings this year was devoted to consideration of op¬ tional attendance at assemblies, revision of lunch schedule, more parking space for cars, a proposed course in Russian and the smoking problem. The participation of all insured the success of the Council ' s many projects which included school elections, football dance, gym show, paper drive, season ticket sales, United Fund drive and Morgan Memorial clothing drive. 26 “Respectfully submitted, Betty Mulroy, secretary.”

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Mr. Maffeo entertains the audience with personal anecdotes. The purpose of the National Honor Society is to recognize excel¬ lence of achievement in many fields. Members are chosen according to their manifestation of the qualities of leadership, scholarship, char¬ acter, and service. At Wellesley High School, the upper sixth of the Juniors and the upper third of the Seniors, in scholastic rank, are eligible for membership. From these students, the faculty elects five per cent and fifteen per cent of each class respectively. At this year’s induction assembly, we were honored to have as a guest speaker, the Superintendent of Schools in Natick, Mr. Maflfeo, who delivered an inspiring speech on the subject, “To Each His Own.” “Thank you, Mr. Graves.” First Row: H.
