Wellesley High School CONTENTS Administration 6 Seniors.12 Undergraduates .46 Sports .56 Activities.82 Go back for a moment on a fanciful flight to your high school years. Fond memories will be recalled: classes, teachers, friends, and parties. We have attempted to recapture this period of your life and link it to ours, finding a common background in the desire for knowledge and the natural exuberance of youth. One of the strongest links in this bridge of time is our seldom ex¬ pressed appreciation for our homes, your faith in us, and your untiring efforts in molding characters of sub¬ stance and value. We have looked to you for affection, moral support, sym¬ pathy, and the necessities of life. We are acknowledging your work by dedicating our yearbook to you — our Parents. And now, looking back to your high school days, won’t you join us as we present our fond memories of . . . 5 John B. That they have been days of sound prepara¬ tion for successful living is the fondest hope of your parents and teachers. Their true measure cannot be taken in a day, a week, a month, or even a year. But through the years ahead their measure will be truly gauged as you find success and happiness in your life’s work, continued growth in those char¬ acteristics which are the mark of the well-rounded individual, and a genuine appreciation of those quali¬ ties which make life worthwhile. The shortest two minutes come between classes. Twirlers strut at a Football Assembly. Our solemn football boys are applauded. What do they do at lunch — eat? Candids The entire Wellesleyan staff first meets in the spring of the year to confer on yearbook policy and to become acquainted with the make-up of a yearbook. In the fall, heads go together as Senior Write-ups are composed. The Photography Editor, Bob Gardiner, busily helps a professional photographer shoot the various sports and activities. Loring’s Boston studio hums as W.H.S. students have their senior pictures taken. Dick Wisewell and his talented art crew madly sketch in the dummy. The lay-out completed and the copy re-checked, the first half of the yearbook goes to press. Right after Christmas the wheels start rolling again. Galley proofs have to be checked and the remaining pages properly tagged. The year is nearly over and the busy- work is done for Miss Slattery and the industrious staff. And then, after the Senior Assembly, come the much-awaited glimpses of the 1955 Wellesleyan.
