THE WELLESLEYAN 19 35 FOREWORD “Those friends thou hast, and their adop¬ tion tried, Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel. We shall always remember classes; we shall always remember athletics, plays, operettas, and other special occasions. But as we grow up and away from the Welles¬ ley High School, these activities will fade in our memories to serve only as a back¬ ground for the people who made them memorable. We value our high school friendships, although we do not yet fully appreciate their significance and impor¬ tance. It is with the desire to retain something more tangible than memories unassisted, that a Year Book is published. With which declaration of purpose, we pre¬ sent a record of this year’s activities, es¬ pecially those of the members of the Class of Thirty-five. The Editor. Page Six
