Is the Growing Up Process an Indication of Youth? Man, like no other creature, is capable of con- tinuing in youth throughout his lifetime. Years, a measure of time, do not hold the magi- cal key to youth or old age as some believe, nor does wisdom and maturity neces- arily accompany them. The teen-ager looks forward to the “magic” age of eighteen or twenty-one, but frequently abhors the idea of old age. We see evidence on every hand of people trying to stay young” by the use of elixirs, potions, creams and lotions. These are used in ever in- creasing volume. We are as young as our ideas, our hopes, our aims, our dreams. We are young so long as we have goals to achieve, dreams to fulfill. We are ageing when we have no new ideas—andean accept none. We are old indeed when we have nothing to accomplish! I commend each of you for every goal achieved! 1 laud you more for the zeal you have for the challenges which lie ahead. L. B. Kennedy, Superintendent

“Let no youth have any anxiety about the upshot of his education, whatever the line of it may be. If he keeps faithfully busy each hour of the working day, he may safely leave the final result to itself. He can w ith perfect certainty count on waking up some fine morning to find himself one of the competent ones of his generation, in whatever pursuit he may have singled out” William James David Puckett High School Principal Graduates” - The magic of the word is apparent as shown by the excitement and enthusiasm of those so designated. For some it has been a single goal that means no more than the end of formal education, to others it is only the first step toward a way of life. Grad- uation is not the end, it is the be- ginning of an even more important period of your life. The efforts of your preparation are directly related to the success and happiness you will experience. I sincerely hope you are well prepared to meet the many op- portunities and challenges of the future. Terry Allen Jr. Hi School Principal
