Mrs. SM. Pierce - President 5542 FGA, The Parent-Teachers Associa- tion is the means whereby parents and teachers work together for the betterment of the school. This year, the P, T. A. again sponsored the Harvest Festival in November which provided a. night of entertainment for all ages of the community. Inaddition, the P. ,T. A. bought padded guards for the gym- nasium, and free lunches for 40 or more children 5 put shrubbery around school, took active part in supporting summer recreation program, and donated to the Weldon Band. :EE W H A if U .- x 'E H wa A - W. Row 3-Jimmy Harris, Frankie Saunders, Mary Texas Crew, Linda Dickens. Row 4-Mr. Ainsworth, Sherry Raugh, David Turner, Linda Howell. Since the summer of '55 the band has been under the direction of Mr. Ainsworth. Despite trying obstacles - d-downs this group, and many ups an '1'ar with a defeatist outlook, unfami 1 continues to work hard. I-- Wesley Boone- 'sif' I ,EUHCHIOOUI The heart of Weldon High is the lunchroom, not solely because teen- age appetites can be satisfied there, but be caus e every student gets special attention from Mrs. Keeter. She knows who likes two weiners or an extra roll or who is trying to gain or lose weight. Always she serves, regardless of the rnultitudinous in- terruptions throughout the morning, on time and with a smile. To help Mrs. Keeter do her job so well are some able assistants: Eloise Bryant, Faye Lucas, Maybel Hux and BrendaWise.
