Monogram Club Organized for the purpose of encour- aging sportsmanship and school spirit a- mong the students and the athletes, the Monogram Club under the direction of Mr. Parker, has succeeded in realizing its aims to a satisfying degree. The improved 'ie cheering at the games, the right attitude tow ar ds a defeat and the desirable co- operation among athletes, students, and faculty are exponents of the efforts of this club. In their search for victories the Lucky Mitchell members have discovered high ideals. Instead of publishing a monthly pa- per, they collect and edit the news in our local paper, The Roanoke News , twice monthly. This is a nice arrangement be- cause the news is more current and there are no mimeographing headaches. The Hi- Lites Staff works tirelessly to bring us the latest happenings around school. They put in many lo-ng, hard hours before the stu- dents see th eir finished pr o du c t , The Weldon Hi-Lites.

Weldon High School Chorus Weldon High School Chorus Anew groupwith a new director in September began, within a few months, to assume the characteris- tics of a well -trained c ho r u s . Its Christmas program and renditions MP- B- R- WUSOH for special occasions demonstrated the ability of its director, Mr. Wilson. Even scales and diaphragm exercises would be easy under his direction.
