With no time to lose, we elected our officers, and with the guidance of Mrs. Joyner and Mrs. Windley, things began to roll. Immediately, preparations for the Junior-Senior began. A theme and a date were decided upon, committees were appointed and began to function. To make money we had dances, sold refreshments at ball games, hadapaper drive, served suppers and sold stationery, bruns- wick stew, and magazines. Changing classes was a new adventure for us, and we foimd that this made our days go by much faster than they had previously. We began taking part in clubs and athletics, having five on the football team and two on the girls' basketball team. When we reached the tenth grade we knew everything. How silly of us not to have noticed in the ninth grade how smart those sophomores were! And we were positive we could never have been as mixed up as those poor little fresh- men. By now we were well represented in all the clubs and organizations. This year we had four girls on the basketball LEE WESLEY HUX RUTH INEZ IVEY smart but little ambition . . . Asst. Other highlights of the year were receiving class rings and making and pre- senting the daisy chain. Besides these Junior activities, we still foundtime to participate in the extra-curricular activi- ties. And oh! The Homework! For the first time we came to afull understanding of the word work . We learned much this year not only scholastically but also in living and working together. Finally We became Seniors, enjoying all the honors and privileges that accompany this title, especially that of being first in the lunch line.
