r for the construction of new facilities and the improvement of existing schools. When completed, Farming- dale will possess an outstanding edu- cational plant capable of providing the best in Education. Without such support, this program would have been impossible. During my administration of the last two years at Farmingdale, I have enjoyed the privilege of working in close cooperation and harmony with the community in general, as well as with the staff and student body. As the Senior Class of 1951 leaves these portals, I sincerely wish each student success in whatever endeavors upon which he may embark. Good Sailing, JOHN J. FINNESSY Superintendent The Skipper of any ship is re- sponsible for the maintenance and op- eration of his ship. To accomplish this, the Skipper must have the co- operation and assistance of his crew as well as his passengers. At Farming- dale, as the Skipper of our ship, I am justly proud of our staff and our students who compare very favorably with our neighboring schools of Nas- sau County which is noted in the United States for the provision of su- perior facilities of education for boys and girls. Our over taxed facilities at Farm- ingdale, resulting from our steadily increasing enrollment, daily presents many serious problems of which our community is well aware. The inter- est in and loyalty to our school system were definitely demonstrated by the recent vote of three million dollars 10
