I'm Willy Wildcat, the BLUE and GOLD mascot. I came to Weir High in 1893, and liked it so well that I decided to stay. I've never missed a day and I love to graduate. I graduate each spring and then I re-enroll each September. I'm a Freshie, a Sophie, a Junior, and a Senior. Oh, yes, I'm a member of the faculty too. I came here before most of you were born and IUI be here after you are gone. I'll always be here because I am Weir Higm. I cordially invite you to go on a trip with me through Weir High during 1958. We shall meet the Board of Education, the faculty, the students, and enjoy the activities of the year. Since I am so proud of Weir H1gh,I want you to be, too. Let's go! See you in later pages. Willy Foreword Weir High has been grad- uating students since 1893. Members of this first grad- uating class were: ANNA ANDERSON LUELLA GAGER ANNA HARGISS BELLE HISTED JOHN MUNN ARTHUR REVELL MAMIE SNYDER ANNA ANDERSON SWEENEY Since we, as publishers of the 1958 BLUE AND GOLD, wish to dedicate our yearbook to all former graduates, we have chosen to give special recognition to Mrs. Sweeney as the only living member of this first class. R. MCDONALD Weir High has been fortunate in having Mr. D. R. McDonald serve as its superintendent for the past two years. Gracious and kind, yet gravely intent upon making his school a success, Superintendent McDonald has kept a steadying hand upon all that has gone on around us. He is retiring this year after having been in the teaching profession for forty-seven years, forty five of which were spent in the Missouri schools. May you enjoy health and happiness, too, And obtain pleasure from whatever you do. And peace will follow wherever you go If our good wishes can make it so. l Farmers Union Inc..
