Superintendent and Secretari SUPEFilNTENDENT'S MESSAGE I consider it one of the greatest privileges oi my office to be allowed to comment on this passing of another milestone in the lives of the people whose pictures fill these pages. At the completion of another school year, I congratulate the annual staff on the pictorial record of the achievements of our school. As we reminisce through these pages, our memories are assimilating a review of the past and a projection of the future. This year's book represents a never ending cycle of the in- fluence of the Weimar Public Schools on the lives of those who pass through its portals. lt is my constant endeavor and prayer that each of us, both student and teacher alike, realize that we are not a part of this influence . . . we are this influence! To the Seniors who leave this stage to enter a broader and more advanced life, I offer congratulations tor achievements thus far, and best wishes for a happy and successful future. Sincerely, Wayne T. chool Board President Catherine Gunn Vice-President Charles Trefny Secretary Jack Sanders Members Dr. Robert Youens Leon Hattermann James Heger Laurene Hayward T Charles, Jack, Leon, James, Robert, Laurene and I serving as your Board of Education, have spent this year watching the new facilities for Weimar High School reach completion. This has been an exciting and sometimes trying, job. The old building has served us well, but the new facilities are needed for the faculty and staff to give our students the very best oppor- tunities to learn and prepare themselves for living in our modern world. Now that the new facilities are nearing completion, it is time for us to turn our attention to updating our policies to permit curriculum updating which has been mandated by the Texas Education Agency. We hope to have a part in upgrading our school so that it will be a Number 1 learning institution. 8
