Leon Grove, Chairperson WHS work experience program helps our students in their career development. The students are instructed to select realistic career goals. The students get paying, part-time jobs related to our school program. The pro- gram's goals are to develop desirable attitudes and to help our students see the relationship between their schooling and job success. What is one way for students to gain valu- able experience and skills at WHS? Being part of the Practical Arts program that is. The Prac- tical Arts Department of Weequahic H.S. is one of the lifelines in the total operations of the school and its students. The department blends tradition with high tech learning within the Electronics Shop, Wood Shop, Graphic Shop, and Metal Shop. We also provide up to date hands-on- opportunities in the Home Economics area (Foods, Clothing, and Co-operative Studies.) Congratulations and continued success.

SCIENCE Bruce Bennett, Chairperson It is the goal of the Science Department to prepare students for the challenge and demand of Science courses at the college level. It is also our responsibility to provide an adequate science education for those students who do not intend to apply to college. Therefore, the Science Department offers a variety of courses to meet these divergent needs. Our curriculum includes traditional courses in the area of general science, biology, and earth science as well as more demanding courses for the college bound in chemistry, physics, and anatomy physiology. Students who are academically talented are invited to enroll in our high-level enrichment tract.
