The Business Education Department makes an important contribution to the students in the development of economic literacy with stress on ethics and standards, in their preparation for the dramatically changing workplace by the development of marketable skills, and a continued emphasis on basic skills that allow for improved organization of work, effectiveness in communication and successful interaction with others. Keyboarding and word processing skills are important outcomes learned in computer and typewriter courses. Students are assisted in establishing an awareness of personal interests and capabilities for the purpose of career planning assistance.

ENGLISH To the Class Of 1989! The English Department of Weequahic sincerely wishes each of you the best in possible choices that you make for the future. We hope that you carry with you as many of the concepts in humanities and grammatical science that we attempted to impart. If you traveled with us during the course of your four year voyage, you discovered many worlds of different characters, characters’ motives, adventures and settings which took to worlds outside of your immediate environ- ment and yourselves. Hopefully, you landed with a new you - a person who matured and developed in part be- cause of your greatly enhanced reading and writing skills. However, do not stop traveling! Keep going and while you do, continue to taste, to smell, to feel the great- ness of the world that awaits you. Take careful risks and experience the better values of life.
