CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES OF 1988! You have reached one of the most important milestones in the continuance of your advancement along the avenue of life — that of graduating from high school. According to most statistics regarding the percentage of students who graduate from urban schools, and based on some of the personal, social and peer problems that you have been confronted with, you are not supposed to graduate. But you have perservered through trials, hardships and misfortunes. and here you are — graduating from Wee-quahic High School! Malcolm S. Forbe stated. Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open mind . All I ask and pray is that each of you keep an open mind, continue to grow in knowledge, continue to think well of yourselves and others, continue to set high goals and strive for them, and continue to make us proud of you. Congratulations, you have achieved one of many milestones in your lives. Only if you continue to strive for all that you can be will you find success. Be prepared so that when opportunities present themselves you will be in a position to take advantage of them. Set your sights high. Strive always to be the best. Best wishes to all of you for a bright and exciting future. Sincerely, Louis Passanante Vice Principal 4 Norma F. Brown Vice Principal

I extend warm congratulations to our 1988 graduates and wish you an abundance of blessings in the years ahead. You should always realize that success is not a destination, but a journey. Hopefully, we have helped you to develop values that have become the solid foundation upon which you continue to build. May God be with you every step along the way. Jack Defares Vice Principal We sometimes see an individual who seems to have fallen exactly into his right place. And what perfect satisfaction appears in his air and behavior, how harmoniously all his powers are developed. And with increased efficiency he works! This passage from Emerson s Find Your Calling adroitly expresses my feelings for a group that possesses the ability to out perform all others. Carbon copies are discarded and fall by the wayside, individuals create differences. Choose to make a difference in life. Benjamin O'Neal Vice Principal 5
