CONGRATULATIONS GRADUATES OF 1988! You have reached one of the most important milestones in the continuance of your advancement along the avenue of life — that of graduating from high school. According to most statistics regarding the percentage of students who graduate from urban schools, and based on some of the personal, social and peer problems that you have been confronted with, you are not supposed to graduate. But you have perservered through trials, hardships and misfortunes. and here you are — graduating from Wee-quahic High School! Malcolm S. Forbe stated. Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open mind . All I ask and pray is that each of you keep an open mind, continue to grow in knowledge, continue to think well of yourselves and others, continue to set high goals and strive for them, and continue to make us proud of you. Congratulations, you have achieved one of many milestones in your lives. Only if you continue to strive for all that you can be will you find success. Be prepared so that when opportunities present themselves you will be in a position to take advantage of them. Set your sights high. Strive always to be the best. Best wishes to all of you for a bright and exciting future. Sincerely, Louis Passanante Vice Principal 4 Norma F. Brown Vice Principal
