WE, the CLASS or 1986, LEAVE THESE FOND MEMORIES • • • It has been my pleasure to preview the copy of the Legend which you were Kind enough to present to me. It is an outstanding publication and one which reflects the amount of work dedication to excellence that went into its preparation. Mot only does it serve as a record of events of this past year, but it seems to capture the spirit, the very essence of our school. The senior class members will soon become alumni of Weequahic high School. Time, which never stops on its journey, will pass before your eyes and in a few months you will be members of a community looking back on the years you spent at Weequahic High School. When you do look back, the photos, facts and memories in this book will be the milestones of a happy reminiscence. The yearbook advisor and staff are to be congratulated on their fine accomplishment. A great deal of their excellence and professionalism was the result of mutual understanding and respect. I am certain that ail of you must find satisfaction and justifiable pride in this undertaking. Again my heartiest congratulations to the yearbook advisor on a most outstanding yearbook. And to my seniors, may your memories of Weequahic High School be pleasant and may your future be filled with happiness and success. With every wish for a bright tomorrow. Lawrence Major Principal My warm congratulations to the graduating Class of 1986! You have toiled hard and diligently through the years and now you are reaping the benefits. Continue to strive for all that life holds for you and success will be yours. Best Wishes! Norma f. Brown Vice Principal 4 I sincerely believe the Class of 1986 deserves special recognition and praise. You have endured many unfortunate hardships during your four years at Weequahic high School. A class with lesser character and integrity might not have survived many of the disappointments you have endured. If adversities develop character, you are a perfect example. You have withstood their assaults, you have triumphed. And for these, you have tasted the fruits of victory. Allow yourselves the pleasure to profit from such experiences. A host of opportunities await you. You have etched your profiles into the illustrious history of Weequahic high School. Go out into the world with determination, dedication and success will have no limitations. Again, I say to you, Congratulations!” C. Meadows Vice Principal Congratulations to the Class of 1986! You have just completed the first step toward self sufficiency • high school. The Knowledge you have acquired during these four years should now become a springboard for a successful and rewarding future. As you enter adulthood reflect upon the pleasant memories and achievements; learning from the misfortunes and the errors of the past. You are the role models of the present and the future. Your progeny will inherit the legacy you set into motion. Best wishes always and continue to prosper. Benjamin O'Neal Vice Principal William Butler Yeats In dreams begins responsibility. Dear Class of 1986: Somewhere along the line I'm supposed to take time to write. I must tell you that trips to Dunkin Donuts every night are not my idea of a good time. But it seems you are. I've truly enjoyed the time I've spent with you, whether in fund raising, or at lunch, or just in my office. You will be missed. It is not easy to think about saying good bye, now'. You have grown intellectually, emotionally and socially since we first met. It has been your class for whom I've felt the most responsibility. Tor me, you've been the living vision I've had for this school. My dreams for your successes are grounded in my sense of responsibility and commitment to my profession and to your potential. I hope you have dreamed with me. I wish you the very best. I encourage you to keep your dreams — and mine — alive. Wherever you go from here, wherever I go, I will try to be in place for you, should the need arise. Remember that. Godspeed, ( hz-------- Jeanne N. Oppel Vice Principal It is with a great deal of pleasure that I congratulate you on another milestone in your lives. The administration and faculty have tried to steer you toward preparations for the future. When opportunity presents itself, only those who are prepared are more likely to succeed. Set your sights now on your goals, your wishes, and your ambitions, strive always to be the best you can. My best wishes to all of you, for a bright and productive future. Sincerely, Louis Passanante Vice Principal There was SOMEONE there who had found answers, SOMETIMES to questions we did not care to ask. But all was worthwhile because we were SOMEHOW better. L + r They gave of themselves even on tiresome days Because it was SOMETHING in which they believed. And now — part of THEM is carried away with us.
