During the past four years wo, tho Senior Class of 1975, have travelled a long road to reach an important destination. There were many obstacles, curves, and bridges that had to be crossed. It was a difficult journey. But with guidance and direction wo found our way and reached our journey's end. One man who has been instrumental in our achievements is Mr. Milton Kappstatter, Vice-Principal of Weequahic High School. It us with deepest appreciation that we, the Graduating Class of 1975, dedicate this LEGEND to you, Mr. Kappstatter. for your many efforts and your dedication to the achievement of our goals.

As a young man Mr. Milton Kappstatter attended Central High School in Newark. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Now York University in 1932 and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the Wall Street Division of New York University in 1937. Presently, he holds a Doctorate equivalency. He began his teaching career at Barringer High School in 1935. In 1940 he taught at Ivy Junior High School. He then transferred to South Side High School where he was a teacher of Business Education from 1940 to 1941. In 1943 he transferred to Arts High School where he later became Chairman of the Business and Social Studies Department in 1955. He remained there until he transferred to Weequahic High School as Chairman of the Business Department in 1961. In February of 1968 Mr. Kappstatter was promoted to Vice-Principal in charge of academic programs, scheduling, general school organization, senior class rank, graduation eligibility and diploma awards. Mr. Kappstatter has devoted much of his time to professional organizations and committees. He was President of tho Chairmon's Association of Newark, President of the High School Men's Association, a member of the Executive Board of The Business Teachers' Association, State Chairman of a committee for Economic Geography Course of Study, and chairman of a committee to draw up a course in record keeping in Newark. In 1972, he was the chairman of the Evaluation Committoe of Weequahic High School, and was appointed by the Newark Teachers Union to chair the Subcommittee to investigate two educational programs. Mr. Kappstatter has also been active in the community, serving as President of the Beth Ahm Temple and as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Springfield Library. He has also found time to sorve as a member of the Springfield Board of Education, the Boy Scouts, and as a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
