Gary intends to further his education by attending college. Brotspies, Richard David Richie, an avid sports car and drag-racing bug. finds his greatest joy in driving his '61 Impala While he plans to be a real “smooth architect, right now his time is spent mainly at the Y, eating pizza, or listening to rock ‘n’ roll. Brown, Beverly Irene Although BB is an amiable girl and an active member of the Contellettcs Social Club, she still believes: Your best friend is your enemy, for he only looks out for himself.” A dependable baby sitter and salesgirl at Woolworth’s, this walking miracle hopes to work at R C A. in September. This quiet girl's future: marriage. Burakof, Trudy Jii.i. Pert Trutz, one of the Little People, is as enthusiastic at O.B.A. meetings (she's senior rep. to the Executive Council) as when she's in her uniform cheering the team to victory. College-bound, her ambition is two-fold: she wishes to be a homemaker, and a fashion co-ordinator. When she's not knitting or driving around, Trudy likes to read (especially To Kill A Mockingbird) and listen to show music. Butler, Rbni Anne Known to friends as Nae, Renee plans to work in the fall. In her spare time, you can often sec her driving, roller skating, or dancing to the music of Johnny Mathis. During the summer, Renee found employment in City Hall as a secretary. Her fiery personality adds to her vivacity throughout the day. Canter, Jay J. Interested in figures (mostly girls') great Jay plans to become an accountant. An ambitious boy. he has held jobs at both a summer camp and a shoe store. Jay enjoys bowling, basketball, and other sports. Cantor, Norman In his spare time, Norman can usually be found any place where there is a football or basketball game in progress. His particular interest in football led him to make the J.V. football team. During schooltime, Norm worked for, among other things, the O.B.A. Future plans for this ambitious boy include attending college, a major step toward the medical degree he hopes to obtain. Chappina, Joseph A. Joe spends his spare time collecting U.S. stamps, building ship models, bowling, and listening to classical, country, and Western music. He has also served as a Times agent, and has done motor repair work. A thoughtful boy, Joe expects to continue his education and become an agricultural inspector. Chattman, Sheldon M. Sheldon, who spends his free time bowling and weight-lifting, plans to attend college to become a phys. ed. teacher. Nuggy has worked as a soda jerk. His favorites: pizza, hamburgers, hoagics, and rock 'n' roll music. Chausmer, Ari.ene F. Swimming, skating, and singing are integral parts of Arlene's life. A former teacher of oil painting, this unique girl has a yen for sports cars, bikinis. James Bond novels and all types of music, especially classical. Interested in studying the human mind. Arlene hopes to become a clinical psychologist. Chavious, Brenda A member of the Senior Council. Brenda is an extrovert who loves singing, meeting new people, and saying Sure is strange. She can usually be seen at any football game rooting for her favorite team. As secretary for Mrs. Birnbaum and other teachers. Brenda gained experience that will help her obtain a part-time job when she attends IBM and secretarial school. Chen, Wayne Thomas G. The formidable Wayne Chen, our class president, w ill not be easily forgotten by his fellow students. Aside from actively participating in the Latin and Contemporary clubs, Wayne has given valuable photographic contributions to the legend. A rather serious young man, Wayne is very interested in psychology, and plans to become an astronautical engineer. Actually, his interests include things from athletics to photography, from karate to rocketry. Chester, Nelson An inquisitive boy who enjoys bowling, stamp collecting, weight-lifting, and the music of Brubeck and H. Mann, Nelson has also spent his time working as a mail clerk, restaurant bus-boy, and office clerk at a night school. He has worked on the projection staff, and done office work for Mr. Goldberg Nelson's main interests lie in the area of mechanical engineering. Clare, Toby A member of the Habonim tabor Zionist movement, Toby enjoys folk music, reading, and embroidering. Her school activities arc many: Honor Society, Calumet advertising department. Student Scholarship Fund, tutoring, and Hebrew, Folk Singing, and Contemporary clubs. Toby, who appropriately describes herself as “frank, plans to study psychology in college. 9
