TO THE CLASS OF JANUARY 1952 “Four seasons fill the measure of the year; There are four seasons in the mind of man:” ... so sings the poet. The Springtime of life with its dreams and ambitions and worlds to conquer and foundations of character and knowledge to build— The Summer of life with its realizations and achievements and sense of power and growth— The Autumn of life with its balanced acceptance of reward and censure, of ripened maturity of soul and character and judgment— And finally the Winter of life with its remembrance of tasks achieved, of work well done, with the savoring to the full each passing minute and hour, with readiness to give of its wisdom oft unheeded—content if only health and comfort and love remain. Sadie Z. Rous ication X x We know true greatness, that of the heart and mind .... it has shone brilliantly in our midst. For three years we have lived in a perpetual springtime .... basked in the warmth of her loving devotion. How difficult it is to convey to others the extent of her mental prowess, her altruistic interest in world affairs and the rights of man; she is her “brother's keeper. Her invaluable guidance was tempered with kindness, deep understanding, and a sincere personal interest in the welfare of every one of us. Though we realize that we have not set a precedent in our profound affection for her, we like to feel that ours will remain unsurpassed. With reluctance we leave, but with pride we present you, Mrs. Rous, to others who need you now. Still, all of us “cherubs ’ will continue to consider you our number one angel! X X

ASSISTANTS TO THE PRINCIPAL Constance D. Bowerman Far too numerable to mention are the invaluable contributions made by Miss Bowerman and Mr. Ackerman. Constant service, effort, and kindness in behalf .of the student body have made them distinguished and welcomed figures in the halls of Weequahic. We, as seniors, will not and cannot forget the wonderful welcome mat spread out by you, Mr. Ackerman, when we first began our high school career at the Annex. Neither shall your informal chats and your friendly advice to us be forgotten. Duly appreciated, Miss Bow-ennan, is the patience demonstrated towards us in most trying instances during the three years at the Main Building. The most complicated of matters in your hands became the simplest. For these traits and many more, we of the January 1952 Class say thanks to you both. 5 A. Walter Ackerman
