To Mrs. W. A. Lowry whose influence has been felt in Weeksville School for a decade and a half. Having been fourth grade teacher for all this time, Mrs. Lowry has taught every student now in school above the third grade. She always shows great interest in the school and the children, rejoicing in their accomplish- ments and watching their progress with pride, even long after they are pro- moted from her class. It is with appreciation for her cooperation and interest, and with affection that we dedicate to Mrs. Lowry this 1960 edition of the Bow Wow.

Many doors have been opened at Weeksville High School during the year 1959 -1960--doors to knowl- edge, culture, and a better way of life. We have approached each door with trepidation, not sure just what lurked behind it. However, each one has opened to us a new world of wonder. We have followed step by step behind those who have trodden these halls before us. There have been many who helped make our way pleasant and profitable. The hinges on these doors have been oiled, the splinters removed, and the locks made workable by our parents, our teachers, and the ad- ministrative bodies. All of these have contributed to our growth as we have advanced from door to door, and at last to the open door of opporttuiity. This book tells the story of our year and of the people and events that have made it memorable. As you read its pages, it is our wish that you may enjoy, as we have, the rich adventures which we have had as we have knocked on door after door, seeking every opportunity to enrich our lives socially, culturally, and educationally. When in the future you look back through the door of success and review the outstanding events of your past, may the pages of this book help you relive the wonderful experiences of the year 1959-1960.
