' S D aw HISTORY DEPART MENT MR. W. C. MORRISETTE A.B., M.A., East Carolina College to Eisenhower's latest trip abroad. Besides his work as principal, Mr. Morrisette teaches American history in the high school. With maps and textbook he guides the eleventh grade stu- dents through their American heritage from Columbus PHYSICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT MR. W. M. HOOPER A. B. , Atlantic Christian College Physical education, business math- ematics, and civics are all in the day's teaching experiences for Mr. Hooper. He coaches football, both girls' and boys' basketball, and baseball. Thus, he helps guide the students in develop- ing physically and mentally. Q I if pals f .r 1' ,. af-1 MRS. W. T. MANN East C arolina College New laboratory equipment, installed in the spring, has made scientific study more interesting for Mrs. Mann and her students. f .2 1 ,. Aww-vwummnieg lvl-lu.r-I' PRINCIPAL C 'C w. C. MORRISETTE ,MPR is outstanding as a school administrator and a civic -minded citizen of the Weeksville community. He is an active member of Salem Baptist Church, and teaches a Sunday School Class. As a member of the Lion's Club he has headed many worthwhile pro- jects for community improvement. With his family, Mrs. Morrisette and two sons, Don and Clay, he enjoys outings in his own Q originally-styled boat which plies the Pas- quotank River and its creeks in suitable weath- er. ln history class, on the sidelines at sports events, in his office, or at home, he is always interested in and wide-awake to whatever project is at hand. Mrs. Lee has served this year as the first school secretary. Her pleasing personality and efficient work have made the work of teachers and students easier and more enjoyable. Her work has included every- thing from keeping school records to bandaging hurt fingers. g lace! gddftddfg ' '1- Working closely with Mr. Morrisette, the school board, composed of Melvin Bright, Chairman, J. T. Fletcher, Julian Saunders, Marshall Stevenson, and Clyde Small, have the interest of the school at heart and make and execute plans accordingly.

5 COMMERCIAL DEPARTMEN T MRS. A. W. HOUTZ A.B., Goucher College Mrs. Houtz, back in the Commercial Department after a year 's absence, teaches typing, bookkeeping, shorthand, and geometry. Future secretaries, under her guidance, gain practical experience and prepare themselves for gainful em- ployment. ' Sedan! HOME ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT MRS. D. W. FOSTER B. S. , East Carolina College The art of homemaking includes many fields of study as young ladies prepare themselves for the most im- portant career of all. Cooking, sew- ing, keeping the department clean, and planning meals are all in a week's work. Mrs. Foster trains the girls to become the best of future homemakers. AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT MR. R. W. Cl-IAMBLISS B.S., Southwestern, La. Future farmers learn the scientific methods of crop produc- tion. In seed beds of their own they raise seedlings for trans- planting. Working with tools and making furniture and other objects, they learn to be handy around the farm. Repairing farm machinery becomes second nature to well-trained boys. The whole program is directed toward more profitable agri- cultural practice.
