JOHN DUKE SCOTT LEE CARTWRIGHT CLASS POEM Years of toil and frolic A dozen to be exact, Have brought us joy and sorrow That none would take back. Our teachers with us have struggled The lesson we were taught To turn our cheek the second time, And to give something for naught. Seniors now they call us, Graduates soon we 'll be: The vast world looms before us Our own conquerors are we. Weeksville High at last we 're leaving The tears we shed before we go Are sacred tears of grief caused By departing from friends we love so. Inspired by our faculty's beacon, Taught by trial and success, We set our sails proudly forward, Our spirits hard to depress!
