The main purpose of the journey, was to experience the old French traditions still deeply embed- ded within the heart of the Walled City. To this day, those students who went along, still carry a piece of the endeavor with them. 88 Annie Memorize, rehearse, grunt, groan, hammer, saw. sweat .. . All of these are familiar memories of the Webutuck Drama society's 1984 production of the successful Broadway musical ANNIE At times it seemed like “A Hard- Knocks Life.” but we all knew that after all of our hard work the sun would come out tomorrow! Leigh Ann Butts and Jim Clark made a delightful pair as Annie and Daddy Warbucks. The au- dience truly believed that Annie had won his heart and become the little girl he never had. The comic relief was successful- ly supplied by Su-lin Jones as Miss Hanigan. Tyler Fenn as her ex-con brother Rooster, and Kathleen O’Connell as the squirmy, gum chewing Lily. In all the cast demonstrated growth, ability, and talent Our final performance left us with recollections of ... sellout au- diences. applause, ovation...” — Ron Perry 90 — The Millerton News — ‘‘Tyler F e n n and Kathleen O'Connell were energetic and funny as Rooster Hannigan and Lily St. Regis, respectively. Alicia Saitori gave a solid, sympathetic performance as Grace Farrow. Her low- key approach proved very entertaining. — The Millerton News — 91 Drama Club Sponsors “Reminiscing Broadway” The performance showcased musical and dramatic talents of over 40 young people in grades 7-12 who participate in various Webutuck music groups or in the Drama Club. Many different Broadway show tunes were performed, including among others: Geri Jarrett, with a solo from “Sophisticated Ladies.” an ensemble of Nancy Colkin. Shawn Alpert. Theresa Dwyer. Tracy Doyle and Cindy Lango with Bye. Bye, Birdie and Tyler Fenn accompanied by John Conklin and Miles Morgan in Yankee Doodle Dandy.” In this venture, the students gained not only stage experience, but also raised funds to launch the main stage production A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE. 92 94 95 Our Conquering Coaches Christine Berg — Varsity Volleyball Tom Kelly — J.V.
