AS STO CCODt1HU6d from page l9J we assumed This year we received our class rings and wore them proudly We bid the Seniors farewell with a formal banquet in the Fremont Hotel dining room Mr Green was our capable sponsor, ano the following officers deserved much credit President Jam Philo, V President Tom Davidson, Secretary Bernece Eilert, and Treasurer Rath Bosse Now we come to the last and f1nal chapter where we find ourselves being called Seruors The task of editing and producing the Annual fell apon as We found this tobenjolly good fun at times We were guided this year again by Mr Green, and the following officers President Ronald Moore, V Presi dent Jun Philo, Secretary Bernece E1lert, and Treasurer Ruth Bosse Many experiences were engoyed during this year We produced the play, 'Comin' Round the Mountain , under the direction of Mrs Dugle The Junior Senior Banquet, Senior Day, Graduation, and our trip to Washington and New lights for the year During our twelve years, ten of us have remained together They are Ruth Bosse, Tom Davidson, Doris Dierksheide, Bernece Eilert, JoAnn Henschen, Kathryn M1ll1ron, Jim Philo , Grace Rothenbuhler, Alex Schivelbein, and Mary Wallace Along the way many friends were added and lost Now half gladly and half sadly we finally close our book at Webster High and live with our memories of our school days PROPHECY CCcnt1nued from page 201 After boarding the Rocket ship and finding herselfa comfortable seat, the Milky Way Limited left immediately She was then served a light lunch by the Stewardess, the very lovely Jackie Herrlman Jaclne 1S the only stewardess able to serve food at such heights Soon after lunch was finished, Jackie told her she would be able to see The Sattler's Ranch , owned by Glenn Sattler, also a former classmate Glenn is the owner of the largest ranch in the U S consisting of 20,000 acres As Bernece settled down for the long ride, she picked uo a paper to keep up on the news Looking at the front page Bernece's attent or was drawn to the unusual pictures that were taken by Grace Rothenbuhler, the well known Dhotographer Destination moon had been reached' Bernece leisurely stepped out andstrolled over to get her baggage Much to Bernece's amazement she found the girl 1n charge was Miss JoAnn Henscher JoAnn said she had planned on getting married in the near future, and since Bernece and Jackie were on the moon at that time, they were to be attendants at her wedding Imagine getting 'married on the moon! 26 C L S H I R Y , y o s A . . . 9 - York, along with our dance, carnival, and chicken supper were among the high-

The last flfty years has seen more and greater achlevements than any other half century ln the worldis hlstory The farmer of today 1S no longer an lsolated person If he needs repalrs for one of h1s numerous farm lmplements, he steps 1nto h1s auto, drlves to town and 13 back at work ln a few mlnutes. H13 produce 1S taken to market 1n a gaso llne truck over excellent roads In the evenlng he reads hls da1ly paper by electrlc or fluorescent llghts, or 1s entertained by the radlo or televlslon The buslnessman ofSanFranc1sco who has transactlons to attend to 111 New York, may eat h1s breakfast ln hls own home, board a plane and take lunch 1n Kan sas Clty and hls dlnner ln New York Sc1ent1f1c research lS revolutlonlzlng the world's lndustrles, :Lts war fare and lts medlcal aspect. In war a slngle bomb 1S capable of destroylng a whole clty and 1ts lnhabltants, and that same atomlc energy blds fair to become a predomlnant motlve power ln our lndustrlal world In medlclne, the sulnha drug and pen1c1ll1n have come to the front :Ln masterlng dlseases that were always Cl8SSlflSd as lncurable, and ln treatlng the battle wounds of soldlers What greater vocatlon could there be for any man or woman than that ofa creator of peace among the natlors of the world? It would be a supreme achleve ment and acrlevement greater than that of any honors to be won ln sclencecr art or lterature or war What greater glory could anyone ask than thls to be a modern Prlnce of Peace Our ways henceforth are to be separate ways No longer are me to travel and work together collectlvely as a slngle body We are to rely solely upon ourselves, indlvldually, to succeed or fall accordlng as we put our hearts and mlnds and hands to the task that we set for ourselves True, we shall mlss the wlse counsel of our teachers However, we of the present generatlon have been coached more thoroughly ln world affalrs, we have been better tralned, perhaps, to depend upon self'-confldence and self rel1ance, than graduates of the older days And so we go forth glrded with courage and fortltude to combat the puzzllng problems of th1s the atomlc age 25 'ames Phllo r D n L R Y Y .
