PRDPHIGZ In 1970, Bernece Eilert, the private secretary of the governor ofOhio, was given an all-expense paid vacation, so she decided to chance the new rocket trip to the moon. As she boarded the Greyhound bus, who did she find the driver to be, but the hot rod driver of Scotch Ridge , Tom Davidson, and also one of her former classmates As everyone knows he was always doing his best in keeping away from the cops Since Bernece knewthe driver she seated herself in the front seat to visit Roaring through the country side they discussed their classnates Tom said that the last time he heard anything about Ronnielvloore he was playing bas ketball for the University of Texas , where he was also taking a course in Mathematics Ronnie always thought someone was needed in Washing-tonto figure out the national budget Then Tom went on to say, he heard the other day that the former Ruth Bosse was now living in California To Bernece's great surprise she learned that Ruth had a family of three boys and three girls Stopping at Niagara Falls to transfer to another bus there was a delay, so Bernece went to have a look at the Falls There she met the former Kathryn Milliron who was on her honeymoon. She introduned Bernece to her husband, a very famous movie star Bernece then went to one of themanystands to buy some souvenirs When she finally found what she wanted, to her surprise she was waited upon by none other than Alex Schivelbein, the ovmer of the stand He was the shortest mem ber of the claus but he made abig hit with the children, selling pfearmts and souvenirs After he had failed in his attempt to go over the Falls in an inner-tube, he took over this very profiting businessa Alex told Bernece that JimPh:llo had made the headlines of the Daily Times He had succeeded in going over the Falls in a rubber barrel, but this wasnft much of a surprise, because he was always known as the boy most likely to succeed Finally she boarded the bus on its way to New York, which was the only place in the United States where she could board the rocket Arriving in New York she had two hours time before she hadto leave for the moon so she went down town. She said to herself, 'I'll have to see the Empi.c State B.1i1ding', o ing, Step to the back of the elevator, please ,which sounded very familia. It was the voice of a charming and very famous elevator girl, Doris Dierk sheide Doris has gained nation wide recognition running her elevator with such speed and accuracy After hurriedly reaching the top she looked towards Times Square and there saw the name Mary Wallace written in lights on the front of the Pa.ramou.t Theater Mary was playing t e leading role in the very popular show, Nor th ac1fic , opposite of, Sou Pacific From there Bernece headed for Laousrdna Airport, where the Rocket Stat on was located Once on the airport grounds she neededa cup of coffee to settle her nerves, so she went into the restaurant Seating herself at the counter the waitress said, May I take your order? To her great surprise thewaitress was her former classmate, M1 ss Marilyn Ward She didn t have much time so she drank her coffee in a Fur ry and rushed out to the rocket CCont1nued on page 261 20 I O . .
