Batin, . 65145-- The Latin Club was organized in 1944 under the sponsorship of Miss Aretta Summers and the second year Latin Class. The club is an affiliate of the Junior Classical League. The club is open to all members of the Latin classes. The most interesting social activities of the year were initiation and a covered dish dinnezfgiven in honor of all new teachers. In December 1950, Miss Mabel Nichols formed the Future Teachers of America Club for the purpose of instilling in students a greater appreciation of the responsibilities of the teaching profession. Anyone in the tenth, eleventh, or twelfth grades who is planning to become a teacher may join the club. Special activities for the year are substitute teaching and attendance at the Regional Convention at Elkins. The club has been named the William Christian Dodrill Club.
