The Audio Visual Club, which was started in 1953, is made up of seventh, eighth, and ninth grade boys. During 1964 and 1965 over three hundred films and filmstrips were shown to various classes. The purpose of these films is to further the knowledge of Webster students and to give them a better understanding of things that could not be shown in the classrooms. The members of the club learn to operate the movie and filmstrip projectors, tape recorder, and rec- ord player. STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council this year was made up of two representatives from each eighth and ninth grade homerooms and one representative from each seventh grade homeroom. The officers elected in October are: President - Charles Blatt Vice President - Janice Thompson Secretary - Sue James Treasurer - Nancy fHayes This year the Student Council took on activi- ties such as: a clean-up campaign on the school grounds, a victory dance after the Webster-vs- Walton game, the purchasing of a frame for the picture of the late President John F. Kennedy and they made guards for the bushes that the last year's Student Council planted. Chuck Blatt, Sue James, Nancy Hayes, and John Connell, along with Mr. Meldrum, attended the Western Maine Regional Convention at Wilton Academy in March. John, a seventh grader, ran for office but was defeated under tough competition. The Student Council also helped to sponsor the an- nual Valentines dance. T hirty
