Webster hi-lights 19 65 DEDICATION We, the studrents of Webster -Ir. High. sincerely wish to 'dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Wesley Small. His rewarding guidance and patient under- standing through the years has helped many students to find their place in the future. If there was an award to be given for excellence of teaching, un- derstanding, enthusiasm, and kind- ness, Mr. Small certainly would re- ceive it. Pg Two 'TO THE CLASS OF 1965 By the time you read this editorial your days at Webster will be behind you. Your record here, for better or worse, has already been written. Are you satisfied with that record, or are there a few things you might want to change if you were to do it all over again? In September, you will have the opportunity to make a new beginning at Edward Little. You will start as an unknown, lowly Sophomore with three years ahead of you to make your high school career Whatever you Want it to beg preparation for further education, or for entering the world of business. These next three years will have a profound effect on your whole life. They can lay a solid foundation for success - or make suc- cess an impossibility. The difference lies in plan- ning, thinking and doing with a purpose rather than just drifting along letting yourself be influ- enced by every new fad that catches the im.agina- tion, every new personality that may arouse your interest temporarily. All worthwhile accomplishments are the re- sult of purpose and planning, plus determination and self sacrifice, and often just a little bit of luck . But remember, you've got to be ready to take full advantage of that good luck if and when it comes your way - and I hope it will! Charles W. Among these were three plays put on by the dramatics group and two musical pro- grams by the chorus and band. The students from Walton entertained us with an operetta. We also had several special assemblies. One of these was A Journey into the Forest with Mr. Henry Briggs, a naturalist, relating a story of wildlife and showing pictures. The Stewart's Indian Concert, with Mr. Albert Stewart explaining Indian sign language, dances, and songs, was also a very interesting assembly. We enjoyed a program by Kenneth Goodman, one of the worldls great organists, presenting clas- sical, semiclassical, and popular music on the portable concert organ. Last of our assemblies was The Marvels of Biology presented by Dan Murphy. Not. only the lecture was interesting, but the demonstra- tions were fascinating. Page Twenty-eight activities Wg?
