ASSEMBLIES Two paid assemblies were particularly interest- ing. One of these was otofered by Lou Gaeta. With his birds of prey he gave a very vivid, live demonstration of falconry. At a later assembly Otto Schmidt displayed his talent in the field of gymnastics. A comic with great versatility, Schmidt combined jokes with well timed advice which coincided with President Kennedy's ap- peal 'For increased emphasis upon physical activity. A highlight of this year's assembly program came when the Walton Junior High School presented ex- cerpts from H.M.S, Pinafore. The cast showed ex- cellent training and talent in presenting some of the more difficult scenes from this Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. Our own talent show climaxed the assembly sche- dule with a production which ran the gamut from comedy to refinement. Many Webster students took part in this presentation which was well received by all. XX ,EH
