Patsy remained in Webster until March, when she returned home to Brazil. The following is an account of her stay in her own words, I really liked my 2 112 months here in the United States, it was a different vacation from the ones I use to have there, on the beach, The thing I liked most was to be able to meet and know new people, and also to practice Eng- lish. It was interesting to see how people from another country live, though it's not so much different from our way of life, I had such a nice family here who did so much for me, and l've a nice sister too, I had fun on my trip to New York and Wash- tington, D, C. I'm happy that I got to see such important cities too, Patsy in typing class I Hard at work 4 ?D in the library! ! Wanda Leef was chosen to represent our school as foreign exchange student to South America, Following is a summary of her experiences, With the extensive boundaries of Siren, Dan- bury, and a few trips to Minneapolis, I have to admit that I had mixed feelings as I boarded the plane - destination Playa, Grande, Venezuela, Had I known the wonderful people and beau- tiful country that were to be my home for ten weeks, there would have been no need for anxiety lt is hard to describe my feelings toward the people I met there, Everyone was so kind and helpful during my entire stay, I have never met people who were so friendly and concerned over the well being of others, They were really great! I think the best part of my stay was my oppor- tunity to learn the way people in another country live. I found many things similar to our way of life, but I think that observing the differences were the most fun and biggest benefit to me, I'm afraid I really can't show my appreciation toward the kindness and hospitality these fine people showed me, I shall always remember my stay in Venezuela and regard it as one of the most exciting, education, and beautiful ex- periences of my life, U nderclassmen A Seventh Grade Duane,Albee Kelly Armstrong Delight Beebe George Bremer Melanie Dorriott Derryle Dreher Ramona Duvall Victor Fuhrman Vice President .TOHN INGALLS Secretary-Treasurer DIANE HUGHES President LARRY WACHEWICZ Brian Bruss Debra Buck Eugene Cook Christopher Demars Robin Irons Harold Larson Richard Larson Rebecca Mc Conkey Theresa Meyers Mathew O'Brien Thomas O'Brien David Olson Jerry Packard Rick Packard Larry Peoples Geraldine Proffit Julie Gravesen Ioan Haaf Bessie Heier Holdor Heier Jay Heyer Susan Hokanson Diane Hughes John Ingalls Forrest Stewart Glenda Sutton John Taylor Darryl Thayer Joe Thomas Larry Wachewicz Robin Wardean Annette Wilhelm Scott Tregue Brenda Young Jacqueline Young Robin Zillmer Jerry Raymer Brian Sears Darrell Sears John Shives Richard Sondrall David Squires Jerry Staples Bruce Stener Vice-Presid ent WAYNE LARRABEE President BRENDA TAYLOR Secretary PAM BROWN Treasurer PA T CARPENTER Ezlglz th Grade E Darlene Asp Bonnie Ball ill? I haven't seen you in ages, How are the kids and all your ex-husbands? Oh, just fine, Pat, You know the alimony is up to S15 thousand a year now, How have you been keeping yourself busy? . Didn't you know? I bought the SHAMROCK bar and turned it into Burnett County's first disco- theque, I call it 'Weight Watchers A-Go-Go', We're the only place that serves low-cal lime vodka. Sounds exciting, Wow, isn't this fun! 1996, our twenty-fifth annual Christman party, Hey - isn't that the world renown bush pilot, Candy Barkshadt, talking to Hugh Hefner's replacement, Billy Armstrong, the full-time woman chaser? Yea, what a life. Say, look over there, That's the great faith-healer and author of the book THE BIBLE AND OTHER GROOVY Tl-HNGS, Jerry Hughes, isn't it? Sure looks like him, I hear he and his assistants, Joanne Weis and Joy Moser, who are also part-time bunnies out at Nordstroms, were guests on the famed Larry Olson talk show, I hear Larry ran Johnny Carson light off the rating charts, Who are the wierdos over in the corner? Oh my gosh, it's Pat Hills, Vicky Vergie, and Tony Wachewicz! I forgot that they are the new hippies of Danbury, I heard they are organizing another 'Woodstock,' It's going to be held at the Moose Junction Auditorium, Believe it or not, the fea- tured group will be 'Doctor Doug Arendt and his Artificial Arteries' with his lead guitar player, Esten Morseth, and lead-singer, Ralph Smith, Marian! I! Feast your baby blues upon that distinquished looking couple, That's Jackie Hill and her co-hort Vic Lunsman. You know they share the Noble Peace Prize for discovering the pos- itive cure for hickeys, I understand they've made millions, And Pat, look over at the punch bowl - there's Reverend Steve Little, the only preacher who charges an admission fee to his church services, Right beside him are his favorite. cherubs, Dan Garbe and Louie Petersen, What's this? Why it's Jill Meeds, our own little dog-breeder, being led in by her three pedi- gree Saint Bernards, Jill along with her star Chihuahua trainer, Chuck Mahlen, has the best dog kennels in these parts, Did I just see a flash? I bet Kelly Hall is here with his camera and of course at his side is his top model, Bonnie Cook, Miss Long John 1971. Oh, brother, here comes Bob Morehouse stumbling by, I hear he and Gayle Hansen are in business for themselves, Bob empties the bottles and Gayle makes them into lamps and flower vases, Someone told me that Bob is ahead though, about 5 to 1, You'll never guess who I saw in the hallway! Linda Fuhrmann, Judy Long, and Nancy Conroy, the new owners of the Herzl Camp, Marian! You 'll never believe it! ! They actually came! ! ! Who? Who came?! ?! ?! Why, the unique dancing team, Jerry Hokanson and Trudy Demars, Didn't you know that they have waltzed before the most prominent people in the world, like the famed used Volkswagon car lot owner, Lynne Olson, and our own Lady plumber and septic tank installer, Roxanne Scott? Pat, Pat!! I Look who came draped in diamonds and pearls - it's the former Wanda Leef and her sexy South American husband, Do you suppose that she really did stash him away in her suit- case when she was our foreign exchange student in the sunny South? Don't look now, But Hime Hughes and Marshall Hill, two of our most eligible bachelors, just entered the room, I heard they have their own jet that is piloted by Doug Morrill, They take all their dates on it, Right behind them are Sharon Pinky Engebertson and Judy Kovarik, the new teachers of 'Rom- per Room for Senior Citizens, ' talking to the world champion tag team wrestlers, 'Killer' Kirby Stewart and 'Brutal' Bret Mensen, Gee, it's too bad that Selma Johnson, the new owner of the 'Lazy Bar' and Lori Freeborn, Sel- ma's chief barmaid, couldn't be here, They wanted to stay at the bar and watch their favorite singer, Linda Leef, on the 'Randy Whiteside Presents the Debbie Wilhelm Hour' TV show. Also, Peggy Beers couldn't attend this gala event, because she is on duty patrolling the super highway from Webb Lake to Oakland, Well, I gotta go mingle and see ifI can find a new husband.
