Tr'le 31 EL f' 4. -------Ru IEELLIE ,..a 17526 11 3714- U -P1545 The 1956 gridiron season was very successful for the Webster Tigers. The gridiron warfare here in the St. Croix Valley Conference underwent some start- ling changes. With Webster coming from last place to co-championship with five wins and two losses they showed their fighting spirit. Ewery battle was a rock'em sock'em affair, with the championship always in doubt untilthe closing whistle of the last game. A large amount of credit must be given to Coaches Ed Niedzielski and Vernon Larson. They did a superb job with the team and were greatly rewarded for their tense hours spent on the football field. Another pleasing aspect was the loyal support given the team by students and adults alike. It must be said they rorted as loud in defeat as in victory. A number of seniors bowed out of the football picture. They were Dwayne Proffit, Captaing Howard Haafg Merrill Rasmusseng Ed Petersong Ralph Carlsong Bud Baslerg Jim Johnsong Clyde Fullerg Dennis Shutt: Carole Lunsmang and Myron Rogers. They will leave some big holes in a championship team, but Coach Wiedzielski has some very capable men coming up and everyone is hoping for another very successful season next year.
