Band Clarinets: Gayle Larrabeq Kay Olson, Joan Chelmo, Gail Halonie, Kathy Maser. French Horn: Diane Nowak, Bill Chappa, Londi Bremer, Sandee Fahlin. Cornets: Deanna Shaaf, Michael Baldwin, Don Carlson, Dale Queen, Nancy Chappa, Ronnie Christiansen. Percussion: Lois Rachner, Carol Davis, Joan Konstant, Barbara Lee, Wanda Neinas. Flutes: Sue Gaynor, Gail Chelmo, Carol Armstrong. Bass Horn: Bob Phelps. Saxoghones: Bev Newcomb, Joan Johnson, Mary Jo VanCanneyt. Trombones: Marvin Johnson, Isla Coleman, Richard Konstant. After getting off to a late start, the band has showed some real improve- ment. At the beginning of the year, we didn't have a band teacher, and then Mr. Johnson came to take over. Our first real appearance was at Homecoming. We had played at the foot- ball games as a Pep band, but didn't march. Later we also played at basket- ball games. Our first concert was the Christmas Concert on December 20. It went over very good. We went to Milltown for the Mass Band Concert and the All-Star Band Concert. We were fortunate to have Don Carlson, Nancy Chappa, Marvin Johnson, Sue Gaynor, and Gayle Larrabee playing in it. On March 9, we had an all band concert, which everyone enjoyed. Later, we put on one more concert. We went to Rice Lake to the Music Festival, where there were solos and ensembles. Everyone worked hard to make this year a good one and everyone is satisfied with it. We hope that next year we'11 have a much bigger and a better band, thanks to Mr. Johnson for his help. 42
