The regular classroom work is supplemented by a complete shop course which includes instruction in rope work, soldering, sheet metal, cement, gaso- line motors, farm-machinery repair and construction. The latter includes acety- lene and arc welding. To complete a well-rounded program, the student also car- ries out a home project in crops or animals as he selects. 36

Once more seventy-girls interested in Homemaking work pledged themselves to an- other year of work and fun in the Dandy Homemaker's Club. They selected as their leaders four efficient officers: President Luella Hallstrom, Vice-presi- dent Mary Wika, Secretary Clara Belle Wang, and Treasurer Donna Reetz. The year started with a candlelight service to induct new members with Mavis Farness representing the Spirit of Homemaking. Members of the Club served re- freshments at the Basketball Tournament to earn equipment for the Department. Social activities of the year included a Christmas party, a taffy pull, and a Hal1owe'en party given for the F.F.A. boys. Girls of the Homemaking III Class redecorated the Home Economics Department with most pleasing results. Their work included refinishing and rearranging the kitchen, re-upholstering a davenport and making new draperies. 38
