Although it is with genuine reluctance that we leave the hills of WCS, one of the brightest spots in the memory of many of us will always be Mr. Philip Davies. His hands, whether hold- ing a test tube, pointing out the best way to take a picture, or demonstrating the principle of the lever, have often provided inspiration for his students. Because of his careful counseling and personal absorption in his subjects, Mr. Davies has influenced countless nuxnbers of those who have graduated in other years to in- crease their interest in science and to go on, giving their lives to it. His patience, his tongue- in-cheek humor, and his own expert knowledge of things scientific have all contributed to the high esteem in which Mr. Davies is held by faculty and students alike. It is to Mr. Philip Davies, with the utmost gratitude and deepest appreciation that we dedicate this, our 1952 Reveille.
