We are forever indebted to her kind, thoughtful work as the guidance director for girls and during the period of Mr. Young's naval service, for the boys too. Where she is concerned, the word guidance holds a true meaningeefor she is a sympathetic and understanding counsel. There are few people who 'can approach her endless faith, tact, and cheer-her thorough knowledge of youth and its problems. For this we appreciate her .... We are forever indebted to her eliicient and capable supervision of Student Association funds, as well as class and club finances. In her capacity of universal treasurer she showed boundless patience and willingness to aid the students of Webster High. Her readiness to co-operate with and help those who are connected with class or club treasuries, her energy in undertaking the responsibility of accounting the numerous records, her cheerful acceptance of financial work on our behalf- all these total a vast reservoir of indispensable assistance to us. For this we thank her .... We are forever indebted to her for her educational work in giving knowledge to the seventh graders of this school and preparing them for the requirements and demands of their Senior High years. Because of her widespread contact with the upper grade students, she knows what the Junior High youths can expect to encounter in the years which lie before them. With this future constantly in mind, she expertly molds their habits, their thoughts, and their personalities to meet the tests of living in their coming years. For this we honor her .... 6 -'---vm v-- ... pq, .gn .xdlalareciafion . . Miss BLANCHE M. PARSHAL1. This year the name Miss Blanche M. Parshall has appeared for the last time on the list of WHS Faculty membersg this year she is leav- ing the school which she has served so well since 1921. It was Miss Parshall who received us in 19-ll as our Freshmen homeroom teacherg it was she who was an able guide in that lirst year of our work in a new environment amid new study habits. Among her other duties was the in- struction of seventh and eighth grade mathe- matics and eighth grade spelling. With her departure the school will feel the loss of a' capable teacher and a line person. The Class of '45 says, Thank you and Good Luck, Miss Parshallf' MR. RovsoN N. Wmvxfus For one decade, Mr. Royson Whipple has been an integral part of the WHS faculty. Now as he goes out to assume a new responsi- bility, he leaves a deep imprint, the imprint of a capable instructor and popular person. For ten years Mr. Whipple has successfully coached the athletic teams of Webster High and in that period has had only one losing team, only one team which did not win at least halfits games. He also cheerfully and efficiently accepted the additional responsibility of teach- ing biology, general science, and hygiene. It is this line record of service, and ability to serve, for which we are expressing our appreci- ation. The Class of 515 says Thank you and Good Luck, Mr. Whipple. !Y,,:.,'. ,, , V. 1 9-7 E r P. IQ elf Ummm lnto tomorrow's world we take the influence of a guide whose keen mind, strong will, and under- standing heart will show us the right turns and give us courage to top the hills and meet that which lies over the crests. 'lihat guide is Mr. Robert l,. Thomas and it is to him that we, the Class of 1945, address this tribute .... . . . We thank you for the qualities of patience, tact, and watchfulness with which you bore the cscapades, ideas, projects, and troubles of the members of our class. Your heart has a knack for work- ing hand in hand with your intelligence in meeting the problems of a rare generationva war gen- eration. There are too few men who have the greatness of mind and of spirit to govern a new type of independent youth and to encourage them, by their own example, to choose the right path in life .... . . . NVC admire you for your ability-your proficiency in managing an institution with such high standards as Webster High and keeping it at that high level where it rightfully belongs. We know that the war has added to the burden you are carrying-but the manner in which you carry on is an unforgettable inspiration and an everlasting asset to both the faculty and the students. Ir is an inspiration we shall bear proudly and gratefully into the years ahead. 9 ..9ll,l'I'll!l,'tL'KIl6' ,Ivpurfnzenf Back Row: Winifrud Ellison, Harriet llewitt. All of the secretarial work and the responsibilities connected with the increased output of hooks were attempted hy the memhers. lt was found that 5000 more hooks were circulated in 1944 than in 1943. The memhers gladly give their assistance and are very grateful for the guid- ance and aid given to them hy Miss Genung, the adviser of the cluh. l,ihrary Cluh memhers create their own social events each year, and this year a Christmas Party, a Mother's llay Tea, and a Houseparty were among the activities.
