Section Championship Game With only a few regulars returning, the Red and White eleven, lacking experience, height and weight, faced one of the tough schedules in the tougher South Section. Overcoming all these obstacles with that famed Weber spirit, the Red Horde tied for first place with De Paul. The Red l-lorde's opening game matched Weber and Loyola, last year's North Section Champions, in a real thriller. Both teams scored only once and from then on it was nip and tuck all the way. The game ended in a 6-6 deadlock. The Red and White next faced their arch rivals, Holy Trinity in the second of ten games for the Nazareth Hospital Benefit Fund. With the score tied and some forty seconds to go, Schultz kicked a field goal to defeat the McGuff men 3-0. League play commenced against St. Rita. After trailing 6-O early in the game, the Red Horde began to roll. Two touchdowns and ex- cellent defensive play netted the Red and White its first victory. Weber 14-St. Rita 6. De Paul Demons were next in line. Once again trailing 12-0 at the end of the third quar- ter, the Red Horde rammed over two quick touchdowns. Excellent defensive play gave the Little Davids their second victory and avenged last year's defeat with a thrilling 13-12 victory. Traveling to Rochester, New York, the Weber eleven lost to a much heavier and more experienced St. Aquinas team 26-6. Though the squad lost, every man had the opportunity of playing. Top-E.
