The fundamentals of English taught to the Frosh prepare them for the coming years when an understanding of good English is a necessity. To increase the knowledge of peoples the students of the advanced Polish class continue to gather up knowledge of the country of their fore- fathers. Power of speech is the greatest gift a man can possess. Through words many things are revealed. lf spirit of English is imbued, we shall become ministers of like bene- fits to others. Page 22 Umm, umm Xluthematics is one of the very few subjects that remains the essence of logic. Plane geometry leads the Sophomores to arrive at logical con- clusions systematically. The Ritual of the Nlass is explained together with Yestments and ln- struments of the Sacrifice. Latin is valuable in study of other languages. Learning of this language becomes a subject of cultural education when intellectual intercourse will be established between different peoples. The campaign issue was usegl to sell the idea of the new school to the readers and to encourage them to contribute to the cost of constructing it. The fact that Wally Lenczyk was signed as line coach and George Ring was retained in an advisory capacity to head coach Al NIcGuff also bolstered the team's aspirations. Loyal Weber followers watched with anxious interest and a critical eye the men who will in the near future carry Weber's hopes in the metro- politan gridiron picture. The question was could these youngsters hll the shoes of the men who have so capably borne Weber's colors. The Freshie-Soph. hampered by lack of coaching dropped their first three games. In the opener they lost to Kelly of the Public League I9 to 6. The following week the Dragon's !.lr. Varsity! from St. George overpowered the Red Horde 25 to 6. De l'aul's Demons were next to take advantage of the leaderless Frosh eleven by winning 27 to 13. The services of discharged U.l.'s and former Red Horde football and basketball stars. Under the guidance of able coaches the Frosh won their first game beating Holy Trinitvs Tigers 27-13, and then rolled over Nlorgan Park Military Academy 20 to 6. ln the season's finale they dropped a 26-6 verdict to the sophomore members of the varsity.
