ART GUILD THE Art Guild was organized for those who are interested in art work. Trips were planned to visit art galleries and slides were brought from various places. The members studied them for technique and color, then made up their own compositions. They sponsor the Gift Box campaign for children overseas, the Chest which was also sent to families overseas, and also the ex- change albums. They also had an assembly to promote their activities and their drives for the year. FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA FORWARD NEW HORlZONS was the motto of the future Home- makers of America- The goal this year was to acquaint the members with the opportunities available for them in the field of home economics. This goal was carried out through regular monthly meet- ings where many interesting activities took place pertaining to this field. The organization's colors are red and white, with the red rose as the official flower. The officers were: president, Ellen Mathie, vice president, Rosemary Wangsard, sec- retary, Bonnie Warnick, treasurer, Karen Bell, historian, Myrene Hunter, and Mrs. Larson. advisor. FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA THE Future Farmers of America is a national organ- ization that reaches from the state of Washington to Puerto Rico and from Maine to Hawaii. lt sponsors improvements in farm methods with a development of agriculture, leadership, cooperation and citizenship. It sponsored such events as the Harvest Ball and assembly, Fathers' and Son's Night. A rabbit hunt, radio program, summer tour and many other activities were also planned. The officers were: president, Gordon Hadley, vice president, Harry Markos, reporter, Paul Bingham, secretary, Tom Hari, treasurer, Tex Hancock, and advisors, Mr. Petty and Mr. Parker. Q QWQL f' UTAH STUDENT EDUCATION ASSOCIATION THE Utah Student Education Association at Weber was organized to promote the teaching profession in our community- During the year, many experts spoke to the club on the various fields of education. The club is named for John Dewey, a former educator. This is the first year that the U.S.E.A. belonged to a national organization. An assembly was pref sented and parties were held at Weber. Other U.S.E-A. organizations from surrounding schools participated in some of the parties.
