For purposes of government while crossing the plains, they were divided into groups, or companies, which were supervised by leaders called Captains of Tens. Determinedly, they faced the dangers and obstacles of a trackless desert in order to reach the spot chosen for them to build their empire. The structure of the church organ- ization contributed strength and unity among the members of, and between groups. ln the evenings, recreational activities provided diversion and relaxation and made the iourney easier to bear. On July 24, 1847, they arrived at their destination. Through the years, despite hardships and suffering, they constantly worked and struggled together producing the finalf result of a state rich in resources and industry. In the past lie one hundred years of progress. What does the future hold? It is for us, the future citizens of this state, to answer that question. We face a great social and economic frontier which can be crossed only through faith and perseverance. The future holds iust as much as we will put into it. Truly, we are the Pioneers of Today . Being a Senior means many Things. lt means realizing our Senior Supremacynfoccupying The front middle section of The auditorium, renting a locker on the first floor, having The ont re cast of one play chosen from among our numbers, appearing on more assemblies, because, during our Two or three years at VVeber, our Talents have be- come recognized. IT means planning details for The annual Turkey Hop , being honored guests at The Junior Prom, and attending more dances, parties, games, and sports Than ever before. For some of The girls, it means being a member of The Pep Club and having a little sister To watch over so that she might follovv in their footsteps. For others, iT means being chosen as contestants in the D. A. R. contest. Mingling The carefree happiness of youth with The first serious Thought of making good , many seniors vvork hard To attain scholarships To one of the nearby colleges while others merely concentrate on having ci good Time. With The Girls' Dance, comes The competltion for, and The honors of being Miss Weber and Happy Warrior. Also from The Senior class, a boy and a girl are selected as Typical graduates. Even the yearbook seems To pull a little harder at The heart strings of the Seniors because it is a final record of their last year of high school. As graduation day draws near, there are mixed feelings of ioy and sadness. Plans are made for The graduation program, details of the Graduation Ball are arranged, awards are given on Honor Day and, finally, diplomas are received. The drama portrayed the unending faith of Mary, n'other of Jesus, and her belief in l-lim even though all others turned against him. The last line of the play is a plea from her that His name must not be forgotten. One Hundred Twenty-five wmwnnunim ' At the traditional Ogden-Weber football game pictured above, the final score stood at 0-0. Weber, therefore, retained the Little Brown Jug , which 'they will keep in their possession until the Ogden Tigers, by winning a future game, shall take it away from the Warriors. Our football squad of l91lo was composed of a group of men all fighting for the same goal. The ltoys played with a fine cooperative spirit throughout the football season. Although they were unfor- tunate in losing all the games, the squad, the athletic managers, and the coaches richly deserve their place of honor for retaining the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship which is the tradition of Webeic High students. Qui' first league game opened with North Cache on October 11, on the Bulldogs' field. The War' iiois fought with enthusiasm against the Bulldogs by running and passing but the opponents' aggressive povver proved too great for the vVeber line. Weber was defeated by a score of T9 to 7. Weber's only touchdown was scored by Reed Nielson, and Lorin Stimpson placed a kick for the extra point, Cn October lO, Logan Grizzlies nosed out Weber Vtlarriors in a well-matched game. Both teams were hold scoreless for the first three quarters. The Grizzlies led the attack in the fourth auarter by scoring a touchdown. VVeber fought desperately to tie the score but the game ended with Logan win ning by a score of 6-O, Weber again met defeat in another league game against Bear River on October l8, by a mere touchclow-1, Both teams carried the ball well but in the final minutes of playing time, Bear River scored a touchdown, with Weber blocking the kick, ending the game with the score of 6-O. On November l, South Cache traveled over to play another league game on the muddy Warriors field. Although Weber failed to win over the Spartans, the team was impressive despite the fact that the game was played under unfavorable circumstances. Because of weather conditions, the game was broadcast to students in the building by the incomparable Lee Lalli . The game ended with a score of BO, leaving the Spartans as the victors. The football season came to a conclusion with another loss for Weber against the Box Elder Bees, on lsliwniiilner 8, on the Warriors' field. Although Weber put forth their best efforts they were unable to atop the power of the Bees' rampaging backfield. The game came to an end with Box Elder piling up a score of 59, as against O for Weber. 'D- C... A-a NNN-, , M. -up 'Mm . X .x.. ,A : X X NW www X:-,X x-.Lx 5 - - Qlvw - ia wmw RN.. s LQ' -. wx :- Y.
