The Humanities Division provides activities of permanent worth and sig- nificance to both community and college. The success of these energies is evidenced in exceptional performances by students in school plays, musicals, debate and speech tournaments, language festivals, and art displays. Departmental changes accompanied college expansion. Challenging both basic abilities and uncommon talents of students, lower division courses flowered into upper division, facilities expanded, Further extending the influence and effectiveness of the Humanities Divi- sion will be the fine arts building, which presently will rise on the spacious site south of the Student Union.
