'fm wcfzb THE OBLIGATIONS OF THIS 1944 WEB TO STU- DENTS AND PARENTS ALIKE HAVE BEEN IN- CREASED MANIFOLD BY A WAY WHICH HAS CALLED BLUFORD'S SONS FROM THEIR HIGH SCHOOL LIFE AND PLACED THEM ON BATTLE LINES ALL OVER THE WORLD. BLUFORD STU- DENTS AWOKE TO THE FACT THAT ALL OF US MUST SOON TAKE OUR PLACES IN ANOTHER SETTING-SOONER THAN MOST OF US HAD EVER DREAMED-THE CHANGING TEMPO WAS EVI- DENCED IN NEARLY EVERYTHING WE ENCOUN- TERED .... TO THE PARENTS WE EXTEND THE SINCERE HOPE THAT THIS WEB WILL AF- FORD A GLIMPSE OF THE JOY AND HAPPINESS YOU HAVE MADE POSSIBLE BY GRANTING US THESE YEARS AT W. T. H. S. AND IN THE EVENT THAT JOHNNY OR BOB OR ROY DOES NOT RE- TURN, MAY IT PROVE TO BE OF SOME VALUE IN ITS OWN INADEQUATE WAY .... TO THE STU- DENTS WE EXTEND A HOPE THAT THIS WEB BE TREASURED NOT JUST AS A BOOK OF PIC- TURES AND PRINTING, BUT RATHER AS REPRE- SENTING ONE YEAR OF OUR PLEASANT MEM- ORIES OF LIFE AND LOVE AT W. T. H. S. DURING A TIME OF UNCERTAINTY, THEN OUR EFFORTS SHALL NOT HAVE BEEN IN VAIN.
